About this artwork
The 'Kew Palm House in Summer' canvas was painted from photos the artist took whilst visiting The Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew in London in 2024. It was the hottest day of the year with record temperatures soaring to 40°C in the capital and the staff around Kew were frantically hosing down the trees outside and the collection inside the palm house. The pooling water created luminescent reflections of the cloudless blue sky and exotic plants on the cool stone floor.
